Catching Squid in Cape Cod
We just caught 4 squid on the cape this weekend. Made for some tasty calamari and paella!
Edit: actually we caught 5 - turns out squid are cannibals... (eew)Apparently the squid only come into the harbor in Hyannis for a couple weeks out of the year when the water temperature is between 50-52 degrees. They are pretty easy to catch, all you need is a regular fishing pole and special squid lures (with extra hooks so they can't get away). "Cleaning" a squid is definitely an interesting experience - watch out for that leftover ink :)
